Pencil Sketch Photo Biography
source(google.com.pk)Ruben Belloso Adorna, a young artist from Seville, Spain, has taken the art world by storm with his incredibly detailed portraits of real-life and fictional characters drawn exclusively in pastel on wooden canvas.
Painting hyper-realistic works of art with oil paints requires great talent and skill, but drawing them with pastel sticks and crayons seems almost impossible. It appears the word “impossible” is not in Ruben Belloso Adorna’s dictionary, as the young Spanish artist manages to create stunning photo-quality masterpieces using only pastels. Born in 1986, he studied Fine Arts at the University of Seville, and has already made a name for himself in the art world, participating in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and winning several awards. Looking at the quality of his colorful drawings, and the way he is able to bring out the emotions of his subjects, it’s easy to see why many are already calling Ruben a genius of the 21st century.
Mairi Budreau grew up on a hobby farm 40 miles north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She was the youngest and only girl of five children. Her father owned and operated a lithographic printing business and she remembers he brought home a print sample of a wildlife painting by Canadian artist, Glen Loates. This is the first art that was impressed upon her memory. She met Group of Seven member, A.Y. Jackson at the McMichael Canadian Collection in 1970 when she was ten years old and fell in love with the idea of painting in the wilderness. Her family moved to Huntsville, Ontario when she was 15 and she spent holidays paddling many of the lakes in nearby Algonquin Park. A parallel interest with painting was photography. Early on she was awarded first prize at the local photo club for a pine stump portrait. She worked for Lyle McIntyre, M.P.A. F/PPO M. Photog. Cr., when she was 17 and from him learned colour darkroom printing.
In her 20’s she was a private contractor in Algonquin Provincial Park and Robert Bateman figured prominently for her as an art mentor. They met in 1986 and with him had her first critique of wildlife realism in acrylics and pencil.
Budreau was 30 when she moved from Ontario to Vancouver Island, BC. There, she met William Kuhnley Jr., a Nuu-Chah-Nulth Native Artist and worked along side for three years as an informal apprentice. She learned Native design and carved primarily in Haida design. When Bill moved to the Lower Mainland for his apprenticeship with Robert Davidson, Mairi lay down the carving tools. She found that what she gained from carving masks, bowls and totem poles honed her ability to draw, and she focused on realist drawing.
As a non-Aboriginal emerging artist, Budreau proposed the idea of a pencil portrait series to The Gallery of Tribal Art in Vancouver, BC and succeeded in booking a solo exhibition. She originated a legacy exhibition of First Nations Artists portraits and blazed a fresh trail for pencil drawing in the ‘90s by producing high realism renditions. The silver-grey works were like the totem poles of their cultures and an onlooker commented, "a virtuoso with a pencil." These portraits were also exhibited at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, in Vancouver.
Budreau filled drawing commissions from Germany, California and BC and was a drawing instructor to many. For four years she lived off the tip of a pencil and then came to a crossroads - financial ruin or return to the 9-5 workforce. Both choices meant that full time art was over – which felt like a betrayal of self but she moved forward.
Budreau found steady income at a photo retail shop and that led to photo printing. A couple years later, her interest in visual communication led her to explore film production. After graduating from Vancouver Film School in 2000, she was associate-producer for the award winning Documentary Film, Lost Nuke. Mairi’s photography, which remained a steady passion since her teens, earned honourable mention from the Professional Photographers Association of BC in 2004. In 2007 she graduated with a Graphic Design Diploma from Thompson Rivers University, and has worked at the university as a graphic designer ever since. She combined photography and design to self-publish Budreau's Kamloops and Region in 2008, which quickly sold out and a second edition was printed.
However, visual art is her true calling and the creative skills gathered along the way are serving her well. Since 2008 Budreau attended several painting workshops and in 2011 transitioned from acrylic to oil. She earned an Active Status Membership in the Federation of Canadian Artists in 2009 and regularly enters juried shows. In 2010 she won the Gold Award in the National Open Federation of Canadian Artists Show for her graphite portrait of Chief Walter Harris. -

It is inscribed on the back, “Pencil Sketch of Fanny by her fiancé, Fred Görtelmeyer—June, 1882.” Görtelmeyer (1848-1882) was the best friend of Augustus Saint-Gaudens (1848-1907), the celebrated American sculptor, and was the son of Henry Görtelmeyer, a virtuoso oboist in New York and one of the founders of what would become the first Musicians’ Union in America. Fred studied in Paris with the famous painters Gérôme and Carolus-Duran; he exhibited at the National Academy Exhibition in NY in 1877 and became, according to Saint-Gaudens, an accomplished lithographer. Fred and Fanny never married as Fred died six months after drawing this portrait of his fiancée.

Fanny Pieczonka - Albert Pieczonka's eldest daughter Fanny Cosima Pieczonka (1858-1886) Albert Pieczonka’s eldest daughter, born in East Prussia, was named after Fanny Mendelssohn and Cosima Liszt-Wagner. This photo was taken in Berlin probably prior to her moving to the United States in 1881. Primarily a pianist, reviews of Fanny’s performances in England in the 1870s were all favorable. She was also a teacher at a private school in Kensington. Her tenure with the Kempa Ladies’ Orchestra, playing viola, was short for she started to lose muscle control around 1883 and was completely paralyzed by 1886, when she died of infected bedsores at 28 years.

As the consequence of a childhood fall, he was partially paralyzed and continued to suffer from a festering infection in his hip. According to his sister Kaethe, Albert would carry Ernst around the house in London, which describes his disability. The infection in his hip killed him by the time he was twenty.

Helene ('cellist) died in 1892 at age 27, Alice (violinist) died in 1908 at age 49, and Eva (violinist), the youngest of the Pieczonka daughters, probably died in 1898 at age 31.
